For Yui Susaki, this season’s Pro Wrestling League hasn’t just been another tournament to compete in — it has given her a platform to lead, to inspire, and to perform when the pressure is on. The Japanese star has become the driving force behind Haryana Thunders, steering the side with a calm, steady hand as they’ve sat at the top of the PWL 2026 table.
As captain of a side known for its intensity and quick turnarounds between bouts, Susaki has thrived on the league’s busy schedule. Getting onto the mat so often, she says, has been a major factor in building the momentum that has carried her through the season.
Reflecting on her season so far, Susaki said the frequency of competition has worked in her favour: “Pro Wrestling League (PWL) has been a good experience for me, because I can fight a lot of times during this league.”
Her results on the mat have echoed that mindset — sharp, efficient, and always with the team in mind. One of the season’s defining moments came when she finished a bout in under a minute, a statement of dominance that also lifted the rest of the squad. Even so, individual glory has never been the point for her.
She put it simply: “I’m so excited to participate in this League. I’m playing for our team, our owners, our coach, so this is not just for me, this is for us.”
That collective spirit has run through Haryana Thunders’ entire campaign. The team opened the season with two strong wins, hit a brief stumble in their third outing, and then bounced back to reclaim top spot on the table. Through both the highs and that one narrow setback, Susaki’s composure has barely wavered.
Susaki points to the atmosphere within the camp as one of the biggest reasons behind the team’s consistency: “Our team is very powerful, cheerful, and friendly, so we have a very good team environment.”
Away from competition, Susaki has thrown herself into life in India with the same energy she brings to her wrestling, sharing: “In India, I’m enjoying my stay. I love Indian food, especially curry.”
With the league now heading into its business end, Haryana Thunders remain well placed near the top, with their captain continuing to set the example. As long as Susaki keeps leading the way, the side looks firmly equipped to carry its league-stage form into the tournament’s biggest moments.
