Haryana Thunders were crowned Pro Wrestling League 2026 champions following a tightly contested, momentum-shifting final against Delhi Dangal Warriors at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Sunday night. In a title clash that was decided only in the last bout, Haryana Thunders came away winners by a 5-4 margin.
With the scoreline tied at 4-4 after eight bouts, the contest hinged on the final women’s 62kg bout, where Paris 2024 Olympics silver medallist Iryna Koliadenko produced a composed, commanding display under pressure. Her decisive technical superiority win over Anjli secured a hard-fought 5-4 victory and the PWL 2026 title for Haryana Thunders.
Among the individual honours, Turan Bayramov of Delhi Dangal Warriors was named Player of the Tournament after going unbeaten through all seven of his men’s 57kg bouts, finishing the season with 59 points. Chandermohan of Punjab Royals ended the tournament as its highest point scorer.
Neha Sangwan of Haryana Thunders was named Player of the Match in the final for keeping her side’s title hopes alive until the very last bout, while Ronak of Delhi Dangal Warriors took home Fighter of the Match for a strong showing in the men’s 125kg category. Akshay Dhere of Haryana Thunders was named Impact Player of the Match for his dominant performance in the 57kg men’s bout.
The final began with Delhi striking first through their unbeaten 74kg competitor Turan Bayramov, who built an early lead and closed out an 8-2 win over Parvinder. Haryana hit back at once in the 76kg women’s category, where U20 world champion Kajal Dhochak got the better of European champion Anastasiya Alpyeyeva 3-1 to level the tie.
Momentum swung again in the 65kg men’s bout, as Delhi captain Sujeet Kalkal staged a late surge to overcome World Championships silver medallist Tömör-Ochiryn Tulga 8-6. Haryana responded through multiple-time world champion Yui Susaki, who delivered a dominant technical superiority win over Saarika to restore parity at 2-2.
Delhi edged back ahead in the 86kg men’s bout as Asian Championships bronze medallist Vafaeipour Hadi Bakhtiar overpowered Ashraf Ashirov 11-0, before Haryana levelled again through Akshay Dhere, who got the better of Delhi’s Amit Kumar by technical superiority in the 57kg men’s contest.
The heavyweight bout proved pivotal, with Ronak putting in a commanding performance to beat Anirudh Gulia 12-2 and push Delhi 4-3 ahead. Haryana refused to relent, however, as Neha Sangwan kept the final alive by pinning Anjali in the women’s 57kg bout to level the scores once more at 4-4.
With the title finely balanced, Iryna Koliadenko rose to the occasion in the decisive 62kg women’s bout. Drawing on her experience and composure, the Olympic medallist took down Anjli through a series of turn-and-exposure sequences, closing out a 16-0 technical superiority victory to seal the championship for Haryana Thunders.
The Pro Wrestling League returned this season after a seven-year hiatus, with six teams competing for the title.
