Haryana Thunders continued their unbeaten start to the Pro Wrestling League 2026 with a commanding 6\u20133 win over Delhi Dangal Warriors in Match 5, a contest defined by a piece of league history from captain Yui Susaki. The Japanese star, a multiple-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist, needed just 57 seconds to close out her bout by technical superiority, the quickest such finish the league has ever seen. The result kept Haryana at the summit of the PWL 2026 table with four points from two outings, while Susaki was named Player of the Match and Delhi’s Turan Bayramov picked up the Fighter of the Match award.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on her performance afterwards, Susaki said she was pleased with how the bout went, explaining that her goal had been to finish things decisively, whether by pin or technical superiority, and that she felt she had carried out that plan well. She added that the team as a whole had put in a strong collective effort that she found encouraging.<\/p>\n
Delhi captain Sujeet Kalkal struck a different note, admitting his side had gone in expecting a win but had been undone by a tough start. He described the early bouts as closely contested rather than one-sided, and said the squad would take the lessons from the defeat, regroup, and look to bounce back in the matches ahead.<\/p>\n
Haryana made the stronger start, with Kajal Dhochhak holding her composure in the opening 76kg women’s bout to get past Anastasiya Alpyeeva 6\u20135, fending off a late charge from the Delhi wrestler after building a small lead in the second period.<\/p>\n
That advantage was doubled soon after in the 57kg men’s category, where Ankush Chandram took charge from the first whistle and cruised past Shubham Kaushik 13\u20133 to put Haryana 2\u20130 up.<\/p>\n
The contest’s standout moment followed in the 53kg women’s bout. Susaki was simply too sharp for Saarika, stringing together takedowns and exposure moves at speed to seal a 16\u20130 technical superiority win in just 57 seconds \u2014 a new league benchmark \u2014 and stretch Haryana’s lead to 3\u20130.<\/p>\n
Haryana’s heavyweight, Anirudh Gulia, kept the momentum going with a one-sided 13\u20130 win over Ronak, mixing activity and takedowns to leave his opponent with no way back.<\/p>\n
The tie was effectively wrapped up soon after, as Neha Sangwan overwhelmed Canada’s Karla Godinez Gonzalez in the 57kg women’s bout by technical superiority, claiming Haryana’s fifth win of the night and the full two match points on offer.<\/p>\n
Delhi finally got on the board through captain Sujeet Kalkal, who showed patience in the 65kg men’s bout against Tumur Ochir Tulga. After dropping an early point, Kalkal stayed aggressive in the second period to edge a tight 2\u20131 win.<\/p>\n
Any hope of a Delhi comeback was snuffed out by Iryna Koliadenko, who controlled the 62kg women’s bout from start to finish to defeat Anjli 13\u20130 and put the result beyond doubt.<\/p>\n
Bayramov added some respectability to Delhi’s score line in the 74kg men’s bout, using well-timed takedowns to close out an 8\u20131 win over Parvinder for the visitors’ second bout win of the night.<\/p>\n
The ninth and final bout, in the 86kg men’s category, never got underway, with Delhi Dangal Warriors awarded the contest after Haryana Thunders forfeited.<\/p>\n
The 6\u20133 result sent Haryana Thunders to the top of the PWL 2026 points table with four points from two matches, underlining their credentials as one of the season’s strongest title contenders.<\/p>\n
